Studiomirei@ milan design week 2019

For the first time, studiomirei will be joining Salone Satellite, a division of Salone del Mobile dedicated to young visionaries of design.

This year’s exhibition theme at Salone Satellite is  “FOOD as a DESIGN OBJECT”. We couldn’t find a more suitable theme for our loved sculptural lighting pieces made of banana fiber!

This theme invites people to reflect on the future of food, responsibly imagining how to combine technology and traditional artisanal techniques. This allows for conversation on how to confront future challenges related to climate change that influences the food system in all levels – from scarcity of resources to the indispensable diversification of production and consumption of food.
